Seriously, while we were setting up there was an Adult class going on so we took a moment to watch, next thing we know, Ms. Cutno has us moving and stretching with Pilates and the Barre.

Now we struggled a bit at first but with Ms. Cutno's down to earth, yet very motivating energy (she wouldn't let us leave the room until we finished, ha, ha) we completed the whole class! Our bodies were made to move! When you don't keep your body flowing the you get tight, and I'm not talking about looking good tight, I'm talking about sore and painful tight. The best way to avoid getting to the point where you need daily remedies to treat chronic pain is to move. Dancing is an amazing way to remind your body just how insanely awesome it is. Ideally, the more active you are and the more you dance the more effortless it becomes, unless you push yourself harder. A great way to promote dancing in your life is to engage the children in you life. Children have this naturally infectious energy that helps us to remember to just have fun. They can be "too much" sometimes but for the most part they hold the key for living in the moment! Kids also absorb what they see like sponges and build upon that. What better foundation for them than the discipline, expression, creativity, exercise, yet most importantly FUN of dancing. You can learn more about classes and making dancing apart of your life, with the help of Ms. Cutno and her team. Set a dancing lifestyle for your children and yourself by visiting the Cutno Dance Center in Augusta, GA. When you are finished moving that "thang", come on by The Body Wrap Salon and get your body tight with out the girdle. We had one lovely guest to stop by our table, Ms. Jessica, and after we "wrapped" up for the day she ended up calling Ms. Fagerlie (Jennifer, The Body Wrap Salon owner) because the wrap started to fall off a bit. We met up with her soon after in a random parking lot and got her squared away. You can call "Wrapping on the GO" check out the photo in the gallery below and more photos on my Facebook page Golden Touch Wellness. From vast exposure to Holistic Health I am not unfamiliar with the unexplained miracles that the body can have after being written off as sick or untreatable. There are countless stories of unforeseen miracles yet one that truly speaks to my heart is that of Anita Moorjani.

Ms. Moorjani was diagnosed with grade 4B Lymphoma Cancer and cleared it in 4 days (Liloumace). Her healing came from a spiritual balance that she was able to attain through connecting with her father after her organs had physically shut down. Often in regards to health we merely focus on the physical aspect of being well. However, being healthy is not limited to one aspect but it is most optimal when there is a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. When we are aware of the powerhouse of harnessing all facets of our health then we can tap into our own healing abilities. Regarding Ms. Moorjani's story, prior to being pronounced dead the medical staff exhausted every resource available to help her live a little while longer. However, Ms. Moorjani, knew that they were unable to provide the assistance that she needed and it was up to her to tap into healing center.

Traditional or Conventional medicine is well respected and the countless improvements it has made in the world speaks for itself. Since the 20th century outbreak of Cholera, Public Health and conventional medicine have worked hand in hand to keep the Universe well: from Education for Prevention, Immunization to promote Herd Immunity, and Pharmaceuticals for OTC (Over the Counter) and Rx (Prescription) treatments (Ross). Along with countless other accomplishes it goes without explanation that making use of Traditional or Conventional medicine is beneficial for Individual Well Being and Public Health.

“Getting to Know, You: An Art Education Series, is in honor of the unexplained miracles of Holistic Health, such as the story of Ms. Moorjani (Spiritual Healing), and the advancements of Conventional Healthcare since the treatment of the Cholera Outbreak (Public Health). At times we tend to forget the importance of preventative efforts and solely anticipate illness or pain treatments. Through the art in this series I hope to promote balance between the two. Whether you are an OTC wizard or a Reiki genius, the idea is not to denounce one or the other but to isolate an area of the body with art and share healing options through stories or testimonies and reports or data. Therefore you will know more about how Conventional and Holistic Health play a role in the totality that is, You.

-Sanol

References
Liloumace (2011, August 16). Well, I feel that this piece manifests just that.

_While checking out some of Anthony's pictures online (also known as Facebook stalking) I came across this really awesome photo of him that does not reflect his normal demeanor. Initially I made a piece for him in his more happy manner, but this picture touched me so much that I had to express it in my own way.

So many times when I am approached in a disrespectful manner the saying "let me reintroduce myself, because clearly you do not know who I am" comes to mind. I am sure you can relate to being approached by someone in a style that shows little to no diplomacy and not even the slightest scarcity of etiquette: this can tempt you to loose your composure as a reaction. At most reminding a person that you are not owned by them and that respect can be lost easier than it is given helps to keep their ego in check when approaching you. That reminder comes from a simple "stern straight face" or "reintroduction". Reacting to that person by treating them the same way they are treating you in their ill faded approach can only lead to unnecessary anguish and tension. Unfortunately, shutting down and allowing someone to speak to you in a disrespectful manner without addressing the tone of their approach can be a disservice to your self-esteem. Instead of yielding to that person's emotion one way or another (misery loves company) sometimes its best to "reintroduce" yourself through the facial expression alone.

Just like Anthony and the joy he has for life, you are too amazing to let anyone take away from your awesomeness or desire to have joy and peace in your life. Whenever, you are faced with nonsense take a moment to reintroduce yourself and all the best to you.

The Mentor

https://www.sanoldc.com/brain-grub---blog/the-mentor

https://www.sanoldc.com/brain-grub---blog/the-mentor#comments

anatomy

healing

physiology

shoulder

One of my college mentors, Richard Lou. Helped me transition from the death of my previous mentor and gave me a foundation to genuinely appreciate my new mentor after the Universe presented him with a new lease in life.

My former mentor Mr. Harold Jenkins was the epitome of a leader. He provided unending and genuine love and support and did all within his power to make me feel at home at GCSU.

Unfortunately, in the short time that we knew each other his powerful life had came to an end. I did not feel comfortable accepting his death, as I do not always handle the matter of passing very well. My emotions are normally unattached and distant. The SOAR mentor program I participated in introduced me to Richard as a mentor and from there the rest was an organic development of awesomeness. He truly showed me empathy and gave me his strength in order to help me as I transitioned into adulthood.

Richard normally wears his hair in a faded top and long ponytail in the back, where as I would normally wear wigs or ponytails. In this piece I took Richard's hair and gave him mine (Richard has a full head of hair!). Whenever we would meet I felt like he truly was aware of my heart and gave me his strength to help me understand the advise he had to share. To date I still am very grateful for his guidance, advise, and support. My new mentor Ms. Valerie Aranda, helped me understand the importance of creating art and using that passion for good and strengthening the community. Mr. Jenkins showed me how to focus my energy on receiving love instead of solely giving: which can leave one feeling empty and susceptible to pain. Reciprocity is OK. When Mr. Jenkins passed I did not know how to take what he taught me and make the most of it. When Ms. Aranda would share her time with me at times I struggled being present and recognizing the significance of her support.

Reflecting on my time with and lessons from Richard helped me to honor the guidance I received from Mr. Jenkins and the motivation and support from Ms. Aranda. This piece celebrates the awesomeness of Richard - The Mentor.
